Property Council of Australia develops online portal using Helium®

The Property Council of Australia (PCA) has launched a large-scale online portal to service their national and state-based divisions.

The content-rich portal highlights the raft of information PCA produces and distributes for its advocacy role in championing the interests of the property sector. Propertyoz.com.au makes use of Web 2.0 concepts and technologies in the form of Blogs, YouTube videos, Google maps, Micro-site engine and Podcasts to ensure a richer and more informative web experience.

The portal is kept up to date by content contributors located all over Australia; thousands of articles, submissions and multimedia elements are maintained using Helium®, a .NET based Content Management System. Dynamic content is published using a feed process with the Property Councils' customer relationship management (CRM) system. Within the portal, targeted third party advertising provides revenue generation for the Council, as well as alerting visitors to sector-relevant services, products and events.

The portal is a strong example of how a progressive organisation is taking a leaf out of the large media outlet portals’ book to present and publish its own sector-specific content.
